@The_Almighty_Kek

is it better or worse than paying more* to live in an apartment, gaining no equity, having no land, being subject to the whims of the landlord, being told what pets you can or can't have? that's up to you or any other individual. some people prefer not being responsible for property taxes, broken toilets, loose door knobs, roof repair, etc. and that's fine too.

* - how MUCH more is debatable and dependent on location, but likely more.

@The_Almighty_Kek

would it be better if prices are lower?

if that affected no other levers, definitely yes.

if we took a full accounting of the domino effects, still probably yes.

what argument am I making and why is it retarded? you could weigh the pros and cons of buying a $175k cabin on > 1 acre of land versus renting, conclude it doesn't work for you, and there's no conflict with what I said.

what do you want? to pay less than everyone else? yeah, me too!

@travis4nh @Omega_Variant

I'm not debating renting versus owning. I own my house. I know it's favorable.

Is there any reason my house should be "worth" $250k now, even though I bought it for $160k less than a decade ago? I'm not making much more money now than I was back then and it doesn't sound like many people are. So why, if I were to move to a comparable home (within the same area) must my living expenses basically triple (when factoring in the difference in interest rates, tax jurisdiction, etc) for a lateral move? Property shouldn't increase at the rate it does, and it does at the hands of filthy hook nosed bagel niggers who deserve nothing less than Total Investor Death.

yes, there is. you said "less than a decade." I'm going to guess 8 years.

$100 in 2018 is equal to about $133 today. do you disagree?

based on that alone, $160k in 2018 is $213k now.

that accounts for more than half the APPARENT increase. would you like to continue, or am I just a stupid goyslave or whatever?

@spacemanspiff @The_Almighty_Kek @travis4nh @Omega_Variant it looks like he thinks you're defending landlords and the practice of bringing infinite shitskins into the country to drive up property values. You couldn't believe that without being jewish or a mindraped kikeslave, so you either have to present that it isn't the case or accept that your opinions are indistinguishable from jewish opinions
Mr. Spaceman, I know you mean well but you have to acknowledge that evil people truly did destroy the American Dream. Everybody knows that these house prices aren't normal. Everybody knows that a firm handshake and eye contact can't get you a job anymore.

And I don't think boomers are *really* to blame, did boomers pass Hart Cellar and Civil Rights? Did GenX pass the Patriot Act? Did millennials pass the covid lockdowns? Do regular people really have control over anything?

So while it is reasonable to talk about buying, and prices, and loans, and so on, doing so without acknowledgment of the fact that the situation is NOT NORMAL is deeply disrespectful of peoples situation, and it will create a lot of arguments where arguments are not needed.

@The_Almighty_Kek

so I guess that's no? you would not like to continue?

because even the shitlibs have now allowed that "migration" (legal, illegal, and fake legal) has accounted for a 20% increase on average.

so $213k + 20% = $255.6k

of course there's variation locally, but yes, your home is objectively worth that much "more" in the shitcoin we call the USD - some because it's objectively more valuable, some because the unit of measure is diluted.
