I was in Minecraft Pocket Edition for Android on my first goes.
Only creative mode was available.

I specifically remember thinking that the crafting table was nursery furniture, like a table with a biblical mural on the sides.
It wasn't usable as a crafting table so I had to guess at what it was. Didn't occur to me the symbols on the side where construction tools.

I got into Luanti, which is more or less foss Minecraft.

@kaia xbox360 version (the 4j port version) i think it was around 2012-2013 like the very early versions of the console port

@kaia I pirated Minecraft beta and then got sad about the game knowing it was pirated and showing a frowny face so I stopped playing quickly. after that I played on my half brothers 3DS and I mined all of the diamond out of the entire map

@kaia Yeah, way back in alpha. I was trying to run it on a terrible laptop at the lowest possible settings. The view distance fog was so close it was a bit like blocky Silent Hill

@kaia more or less. I first played the demo applet on their website and remember getting creeped out by the caves and stuff. I mistook iron ore for rock covered in mushrooms and found the sponges to be weird.
