I don't think it has even been three months since people were calling you names and telling you to fuck off and fork it if you didn't like rust in the linux kernel and now they're crying it's impossible to fork the linux kernel to avoid you know what contributions

2I’m just using deslopped Shitblows 11 at this point, up and until I can find hardware to fully run NomadBSD (and to do so without an update killing the entire thing ala Artix).
Should specify MODERN hardware, I have no doubt decade or older hardware would do fine.

@ryu windows is a joke, windows xp used to run on like 96MB of RAM with almost full api compatibility to today
Don’t disagree with this at all, but I absolutely refuse to touch modern macOS past Mavericks for longer than ten minutes because of how much I hate it.
Already went on my semi-frequent Troonix rant today, so I won’t shit up your notifications with it.

@ryu its no problem you can shit up my mentions any time
I’ll post a link to the latest rant here then, and do it in a way that everyone can see it (alongside my Nostr profile):

The Linux thing pissed me off way more because I already had a limited selection of distros and desktop environments to choose from due to my hardline anti-soyd stance; having that topped off with having to consistently hop from software fork to fork, and eventually distro and DE hop because of how bad the identitarian and political infestation got, made it so that I have absolutely zero tolerance for subversive or otherwise unexpected bullshit.
I know the bullshit to expect from iOS and Windows, meanwhile I’m given more reason by the day to never look back at Linux, all while BSD is BARELY reverting from their own years of it.

@ryu I hate it too I want macos tiger back
@sun@shitposter.world @ryu@mostr.pub Snow Leopard
It is a strongly held position of mine with those I talk to that are far more entrenched in the Apple ecosystem than I that the Mavericks UX (with some newer things plugged into it) with the Tahoe UI would be the best operating system in existence, and would be a no-brainer switch from Windows for me if I didn’t fully stick to the BSD plan.
As it is now though, hell fucking no.

@clawfulneutral @ryu it just got added
no more pubkey mention strings lol
@sun windows is awesome. Unfortunately, it's harder to make it usable than to just install whatever Linux you feel like.
But AtlasOS is a thing and it's honestly quite nice.

@subnetter @sun I've never used Windows for anything except some software in a VM. But it's a rather well designed OS under the hood.
