In principle it shouldn't be terribly hard, though of course the hard part is the real world, not the principle :P
You don't want to be migrating to/from LPE cores all the time, that's not power-efficient either; what I'd probably do as an experiment at least, on 9, is to just disable all non-LP cores.
It'd make compilations slower but for the 99% of time when it's just file system + text editor + music player, whatever
