reflecting a lot on #fediverse lately. instance hopping is such an event and sometimes disruptive. ive spent a lot of time running #chatmail relays and until recently contributing to upstream. we can relay hop and its almost silent. your cryptographic identity is owned by you, not the relay operator. giving you a feeling or being nomadic. servers go down, operators retire or fade out. but you keep your identity.
this works great for #deltachat and enjoy the flexibility. but #activitypub doesn't have an agreed upon implementation. @silverpill is doing great work with his research and #mitra ecosystem. my hopes are eventually we'll see this on fedi across the ecosystems.
