13@feld 30 minutes over lunch plus 30 minutes after work would be 5 hours. That leaves 5 hours over the weekend. It could be doable.
Dunno. The "no time" excuse died with statistics

...that said, my exercise session was supposed to start 21m ago. So, uh, gonna log off....
@feld I wake up and go to gym. My life is much improved as a result. Mind you, my biggest challenge is ADHD and cardio is a big help.
I had to find a gym within ten minutes travel or I wouldn't go.
- people who need low impact exercises and can't afford a gym membership or equipment
- people who are just wary because of healthcare costs from injuries (I don't bike anymore because I don't have health insurance and I'm not gonna pay $1200/mo for a $15,000 deductible)
- if you're going to exercise that much, you need to change your diet and people can't afford meals that aren't ultra-processed plus they literally do not know how to cook at all because we just don't teach people that skill anymore
- people with multiple jobs or multi-hour commutes. They're already exhausted and depressed and changing their diet would help with this but as I just mentioned...
it's a goddamn mess
and then you have people like my mom who have the worst lifestyle and diets on the planet for their entire lives and somehow she gets to keep living at the ripe age of 76 but the healthiest people I've known in my life ended up dying of cancers and weird diseases
Make it make sense man. This country is ill.
@feld @Guillotine_Jones It’s doable if you ride your bike to work and have a one hour round-trip commute.
My thoughts:
- Americans move all the time. Next time, consider its surroundings or access to grocery stores (absurd notion to me. Two farmers market, several bakeries, butchers and 5 stores within 15 min. )
- processed food is energy denser and wins there. Any other dimension is cheaper. Until you take flower and butter into consideration. Real butter.
- I bet Americans would like Burgers without buns. Just minced meat, some vegetables and onions. 3x/week.
Small steps.

I agree this is really important and I like to live where they're nearby and I could walk and/or bike, but the problem is that the cost of living where that's possible is really really high.
This country sucks dude. Our civil engineers are absolutely cracked out on meth or something.
