You underestimate how much the govt will pay to make a Problem go away.

In the 70s during The Troubles, the IRA was able to even get their guys released from prison - just by killing so many cops that the govt was worried they would actually run out...

@cjd @admin @KekistaniWanderer @Terry @TrevorGoodchild see my post a few days ago about “having plans to do things”

the main problem with the current crop of emotive dipshits is that their one-shot and disorganized “plans” (I use this term loosely) accomplish less than nothing, because the system already knows that those occurrences are (1) statistically guaranteed at a certain rate, (2) are one-and-done, and (3) can be made to serve their own purposes; as soon as the perpetrator gets rolled up, the system has nothing left to fear, and it can then convert the Happening of a “brief emotive flash-in-the-pan challenge to the system” into the sweet lemonade of “public reinforcement of the Myth of Systemic Invulnerability” (“the Pinkertons always get their man”), thereby converting what is essentially an evolutionary input (culling the weak and stupid among their servants and goading the rest into better habits) into a net benefit for the system as a whole

when there becomes systemic uncertainty about whether or not they’ll be able to stop the next called shot, or exact retribution for it in any meaningful way…. that, right there, is when Nature begins to Heal
