@cjd @bonifartius @CapitalB yeah, I mean, they can totally come up with oauth-like thing that will require you to provide your actual state issued ID in order to get an account - that's totally doable, but then they'd need to somehow force every single website to require this kind of authentication for access. I don't see how they can possibly enforce it

@cjd @bonifartius @CapitalB yeah, man, they do that just in case someone's still dumb enough to think they're not goddamn Bolshevik control freaks and needs to experience the permanent invigilation without any smoke screen to comprehend it.
<<‘No more excuses’: Von der Leyen says EU age checking app is ready>>
Somebody put that Bolshevik bitch out of her misery already. Pretty please

@CapitalB but of course. They have a plan, you see. This is one of the reasons why I'm not using European ISPs
@CapitalB well, it might fly in Europe, both EU and non EU states, definitely in China and such, but something tells me they'll have a real hard time selling it to the US. The NSA is not about to give up its ultimate say on who can and who can't use the interwebz and spying possibilities, so there's that.
@bonifartius @CapitalB everything's possible, obviously, but given that he still haven't blocked RT even for EU customers, I'm cautiously optimistic
An average single family house in the US is basically a bunch of plywood, gypsum and cardboard, so how come people pay out of their asses for that shit? What's the deal there? Your average American can't figure out that it literally takes two guys who know what they're doing and one summer vacation to build something like that? 🤔
@cbrooklyn112 man, check this shit out. https://www.pineca.it/casa-in-legno-coibentata-vera-132-mq-terrazza-13-5-mq.html
50k-ish. You add concrete foundation, which you absolutely need, good varnish, wiring, water installation and shit, and you have a decent house for less than 200k. Comes with manual like Ikea furniture. C'mon!
@cjd I'm kinda thing that it's a good advice just because a welder makes 50k a year on average in the States, while your average master of arts in the liberal studies is unemployed and lives on food stamps ;)
@cjd if I were to advise young people, I'd just tell them to get their hands dirty. Learn welding or something else that's actually useful. I'd also tell them that this "you can be whatever you want to be, just take a loan and go study" stuff is pure nonsense. But I'm a known misogynist and a drunk, so what do I know ;)
@SiRrogueKnight yeah, I must admit their Lego series was pretty funny. Not bad for bacon deniers 🤣
<<Iran can't find its own mines in the Strait of Hormuz, US officials say>>
Oh so that's what it is. Totally not them Iranians not being willing to give up the pressure lol
That was one tremendous ceasefire, wasn't it, folks.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Easter is the most confusing christian holiday ever. Think about it: we celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ by painting fuckin' eggs and having a goddamn rodent hide them, because, reasons, I guess.
What's the deal here? 🤣🤣
@Autumn fat chance. Not only BRICS has no viable alternative - only propaganda, but also, if dollar collapses it will drag the whole world down with it, which includes China, so nobody will allow that to happen.
@cjd @truthbait @dictatordave Italian father, Polish mother - dual citizenship from the get go. Born and raised in Poland when draft was still a thing.
<<Trump news at a glance: president makes fresh threat to pull US out of NATO>>
You know what, folks, I'll just say I out loud: the man's being a narcissistic gaywad and an ingrate at this point. I mean, if the US doesn't want to be a member of NATO anymore, that's cool. Just withdraw from the treaty and a that's it. But saying that the other NATO members aren't doing their job here and presenting it as the reason is just insulting.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/apr/01/trump-news-at-a-glance-nato
@dictatordave you're not wrong. The US alone is half the military force the whole NATO has (not counting the nuclear arsenal, because then it's like 99%). Still though. NATO is a defensive alliance, or at least that's what the treaty says. Nobody attacked the US this time around. And on top of that, when the US was actually attacked and the article 5 was invoked, everyone was there. I would know - I got deployed to Iraq because of 9/11. The US has yet to do something like that for other members
@truthbait @dictatordave I'll just assume you're being sarcastic here
@truthbait @dictatordave welfare to Europe part, obviously. Now, if you're referring to this so called trade unbalanced, you're not wrong when it comes to trade in physical goods, because the US hardly manufactures stuff the Europeans would want to buy, but then when you look at services, it very much balances out. Other than that though... Pure nonsense
