@nolan this is spot on. I talk with @SlicerDicer all the time about how we're a "tech society" and we should want to empower as many people as possible to be able to use computers to improve their lives -- to build solutions to problems they have that will never have a mass appeal or product-market-fit. But we can't expect every Tom, Dick, and Harry to spend the years required learning the nuances of this discipline *and* still have their own jobs/careers and areas of expertise.

We only have so much time on this planet. We can only choose to spend it focused on learning and mastering a few complex topics.

But if we can break down the barriers and turn computers into a more general purpose tool that anyone can use for *creating* not just *consuming*, we've made a huge stride in the advancement of the human race I think...
@feld @nolan We all have ideas too. Some better than others I guess? Depends on your origins and problem space. The benefit of a team isn’t that they are magically better it’s they bring different ideas.

Those ideas can come to life that are not necessarily possible before. That’s a big win, yeah it can bring technical debt. But someone make something cool? I’ll spend my time to help if it’s up my alley.

Wasn’t that what it was all about anyway when we make things? Make it work, if it’s ugly it doesn’t matter. Find help if needed to make it pretty or hack on it till it is. Either way it’s always forward.

I should say too, I’m 43 and it took till I was 39 to break into tech. It’s definitely gatekeeper special from hell. You need experience to get experience.
