I knew my dad was hopelessly wicked by the way he always smashed up the ramen noodles before cooking them

50@reallyangry Right ? I knew there was a problem even when I was three years old
@KingOfWhiteAmerica @reallyangry 🤔 maybe I am the deviant... I never even had ramen til I went to jail. I seem to have answered my own query here...
@KingOfWhiteAmerica well to be fair i was a real weeb when i was younger
i had a pair of washable chopsticks i'd take iwth me to eat iwth

@KingOfWhiteAmerica I used to split the brick into 8 pieces. idk why. I think it helped when cooking in microwave because they wouldn't poke out of the water as much
@suquili At least that’s relatively orderly. Not my dad. He’d strangle the package
@SmidgePierce @KingOfWhiteAmerica it's one of those foods i used to keep around in the back of my cabinets for when i ran out of other stuff near the end of my money before i got paid again.
@KingOfWhiteAmerica @suquili YES MY DAD WOULD DO THIS TOO
As a kid I thought "maybe it makes it more fun or something? Why didn't they just make the noodles tiny if that's how it was supposed to be made!?
"
Didn't realize until I had another when I was much older "OH HAHA THAT'S NOT ON THE INSTRUCTIONS OR ANYTHING MY DAD IS JUST A NUTCASE"
(I love him, but what a goober)

@scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica My mom makes this "chinese coleslaw" (probably not chinese at all) which includes ramen pieces as part of the flavor. It's pretty good and edible unlike normal coleslaw.
The ramen part of the recipe calls for crushing up the noodles into small pieces. She'd have me whack the ramen package with a mallet while she did other stuff lol

@suquili @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica i hate this nigger
@reallyangry @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica not familiar with him, I just like the vid
I'd probably hate him too if I knew more about him

@suquili @KingOfWhiteAmerica lol noooo you have to crush it with your hands without breaking the bag it's a SKILL
"normal" coleslaw is good if you make it yourself

@suquili @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica i literally hate him for shitting on perfectly great white dishes.
@suquili @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica i like all those dishes
potato salad, pasta salad, cole slaw, they're all good. and they're a staple of any bbq

@suquili @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica I'm TOO AUTISTIC FOR THIS JOKE IT ENRAGES ME
@scenesbycolleen @suquili I suspect my dad did it because of the Biblical commandment not to eat strangled food. I certainly wouldn’t put it past him.
Tbh I’m always relieved when people are still in good with their parents.
@scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica Maybe. I've had chicken sandwiches at restaurants with housemade coleslaw and it wasn't much better. Something about cabbage and whatever else is in it just made me gag as a kid. I physically couldn't handle it. These days I just don't like it
@scenesbycolleen @suquili @KingOfWhiteAmerica who is cole, and why is his slaw so good?
@KingOfWhiteAmerica @suquili alright so one fucking weird hting i'd do
is crush the noodles, then pour the powder packet in
then shake it up and eat it dry sometimes.

@elftummy @scenesbycolleen @suquili @KingOfWhiteAmerica naw slaw is a verb
cole was slawwed
cole was slawwed
@reallyangry @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica I didn't catch that but in his defense he's comparing them against each other and not against some overseasoned brown rapist cuisine.
@reallyangry @suquili @KingOfWhiteAmerica If they're made well, yes.
If they're the kind that I've gotten at midwestern (ohio and penn. mostly) potlucks, I will not touch them if I'm trying to be polite.
I don't know what some people do to them but they have a range from "amazing food I'd eat all the time if I could" to "garbage I wouldn't feed this to my worst enemy" and it's realllly difficult to stomach if it's not on the good side of the spectrum

@scenesbycolleen @suquili @KingOfWhiteAmerica i'm not picky most mof the time
@reallyangry @elftummy @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica I thought it was "cold slaw" because it was in the refrigerator. "Slaw" sounded very fitting with how much I hated it. Like it's the sound you make when you throw it up
@suquili @elftummy @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica it's just chopped cabbage in dressing man
it's alright.
it's alright.
@scenesbycolleen @suquili @KingOfWhiteAmerica You order coleslaw and the crush it in your hands? Wtf Colleen
@reallyangry @elftummy @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica physically couldn't handle it as a kid
don't care for it now. can't tell ya
don't care for it now. can't tell ya
@suquili @KingOfWhiteAmerica Oh, it took me a while to make one that I liked, but it can be done (I mean, probably? maybe? it worked for me at least and I was the same with anything with mayo in it)
@suquili @reallyangry @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica Unfortunately I actually know where the name comes from.
And even worse.. I know it's Dutch
Koolsla
Kool - cabbage
Sla - salad
lit. Cabbage salad
Originally Americans DID call it Cold Slaw, eventually changing it to Cole Slaw, cole coming from Caulis, latin relating to cabbage, coming full circle

@scenesbycolleen @elftummy @suquili @KingOfWhiteAmerica Sometimes I just look at them thinking of the dage I could do
@elftummy @scenesbycolleen @reallyangry @suquili @KingOfWhiteAmerica Didn't know you're a cat feeder too
@scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica @reallyangry @suquili There is no such thing as good macaroni salad, except for the kind that my aunt makes. I've told her it should be a national brand, but she said this giant nigger amusement park doesn't deserve any. I was pretty shocked, because I've never even heard her go Enwarding before, but I couldn't even disagree. Let them eat cold slaw goyslop.
@suquili @elftummy @scenesbycolleen @KingOfWhiteAmerica I gave mine a little steak
@scenesbycolleen @elftummy @reallyangry @KingOfWhiteAmerica i miss when foids did this
@suquili @scenesbycolleen @reallyangry @KingOfWhiteAmerica Calories are calories.. as long as she's the one eating it.
@reallyangry @KingOfWhiteAmerica @scenesbycolleen @suquili Maybe as burger condiments, but eating them alone is basically ketchup soup
