@delta Hello, I have a little problem with Deltachat: I use it on 3 devices and one of those (my laptop) is only used once every 2~4 weeks. Each time I launch Deltachat on this computer it takes several minutes to sync (I use Deltachat all day everyday so that's a lot of messages), and the CPU gets very hot.

Is there any plan to improve this problem? Should I open an issue about it?

@Hiro Annoying sync times/processing after longer offline times is a known problem for heavy users of delta, and you are not alone having it. So far it hasn't been prioritized because focus is still on removing obstacles and making it easier for people who freshly join.

@delta @Hiro I feel like this situation has somewhat improved though -- when I turn on my Android phone for testing and it has been off for a week it seems to sync much faster than it used to.

Out of every email client I've ever used I still have the memory that -- believe it or not -- Opera's built in mail client was the fastest at syncing IMAP. I don't know how they did it. I tested it on accounts with hundreds of thousands of mails and it would be able to sync it all within a couple minutes, which means it must have been going somewhere close to 1000 per second. I'd love to know what they did to achieve this.
