I guarantee you this prick just copy pasted Chat GPT. While a Karen enough city could probably throw the book at you for this and try and find something, something non-permanent like chalk would typically not be considered defacement, as there is no monetary damage. When you understand the law in the US is (hypothetically) about intent, it's gonna be ridiculous explaining to a jury that a 7 year old is a criminal for using chalk. I know way worse shit happens to children in this fucked up country, especially in school environments with zero tolerance, but you usually hear about it when it happens, and I've never heard of a 7 year old being prosecuted for chalk.
