software engineers have no formal professionalism, do whatever theyre told, don't have guilds or professional societies with teeth, basically nothing. software everywhere is almost all garbage.

@sun I got an undergrad CS degree 🤢 and my 2 semester mandatory software engineering professor and my junior year writing for CS dorks professor were both ranting eloquently about this 20 years ago
never came up with any of the rest of the faculty
@sun to play devil's advocate, no other "engineering" domain had to live through such an insane amount of change/evolution and consumer/company pressure in such a short time.
