@sun Tiktok has a lot of accounts that are dedicated to helping revive struggling businesses. They're so good and I've found great food that way too.
But yeah fedi is niche. My friends and family have maybe heard of Mastodon before but have likely already forgotten. They all use Tiktok or Instagram, every single one of them

@eris in this place you can talk to all your quirky friends without a filter. it's useful but it's not the only thing.
@sun I will say I've met more IRL friends here on fedi than other platforms but then you have to go to Portland for 90% of them
