@sun i have interacted with strangers of every race in about every circumstance and from my own personal experiences I would rather interact with black people than any other race. as far as public interactions with strangers goes my worst experiences have been with wealthy white people, wealthy indians, and koreans

@vriska@lizards.live @sun@shitposter.world most of my direct interactions on public transit have been pleasant. The only genuinely hostile people interactions have been white people though anecdotally black people are more likely to tell me about their weird religious beliefs

@anemone @sun yeah that does happen a lot but i do not mind that much, when I used to take greyhound buses and amtrak everywhere I got preached to by the most insane people of every race about their weird ass schizo-christian beliefs

@vriska@lizards.live @sun@shitposter.world last time I was talking to some nice elderly black gentleman and we agreed on pretty much everything until he went off on how the main reason for everything is we took god out of public life and i was just like... did we tho?

@anemone @vriska my risk calculus doesn’t consider elderly black people risky unless they are homeless

@sun @anemone the life I've led has put me in the kind of mindset that I become the risk if I feel like there are risks around me. the only places in my entire life I've genuinely felt unsafe by default were Toledo Ohio and Guam

@vriska @anemone I have only been physically threatened on the street by black people. One white person once in a Taco Bell that was on meth

To a smaller extent in Miami. I
Had a huge guy walking by me and suddenly lunge at me and yell BOO just to assert his dominance

except I wasn't paying attention when they did it so I just looked at them funny instead of jumping

must be some weird Miami thing

@sun @anemone this thread just reminded me of when I was homeless in denver and I was at a bus stop with all of my shit, and a group of black women came up to wait for the bus, and I moved my bag closer to me, and one girl was like "oh you think im gonna steal your stuff because im black?" and got all mad, and I said "actually im homeless and this is all that I have to my name." and her two friends started roasting her and she gave me 40 bucks lmao
