@sun If what you are providing is the rich presence/friends/networking etc I've long thought it would be doable with p2p things like the dht. Very doable I think. Marketplace is harder to decentralize unless you're talking about like, p2p based file distribution and payments facilitated by e.g. crypto rather than cc's
when daemons can code an app for you in an afternoon the real scarcity will be usable names that mean anything at all

there's already that meme that goes

>Working at any office is like “Ok we’re transitioning to Salarya, but payroll is still in Bullfrog—did you see my Noosecock post? Submit your timecard on Fireplayce then jizz me on Smackdog . Do NOT upload to Crackerz without Yammer approval

meanwhile a common noun/verb is going to refer to a dozen different apps on top of the dictionary definition

and it's only going to get worse
@sun I think you'll need to pilot it with high-quality first-party games to showcase what's possible, teebeeaych. Whether that's slots, or genshin impact or fifa but spectators can bet on it eg. etc if you just build infra, it's not going anywhere. If you build a product that uses the infra you made then it's still a gamble but not a certainty that it will be disregarded, like building a railroad without trains.
@sun AAA isn't your market. More like souped up facebook/newgrounds type shit. Your target is basically candy crush and genshin impact players so I don't think that's a worry. if you could get pygame (I'm assuming what every visual novel is written in) running on it you'd have six kajillion weaboo dollars pouring in every 30 seconds.
Gamblers, coomers, people not trying to "game" really.
