@sun Linus himself has admitted that he contributes very little code these days, he's mostly just managing the project.
Putting the "AI" aside, putting the discourse and politics aside, Linus and most FOSS developers/project leads have failed to guard their projects from getting sucked into various proprietary ecosystems. That problem was ongoing and persistent, LLMs were just the final nail in the coffin since now they can just churn out a copy without copyleft licensing .

@subnetter at least torvalds admits using the GPL2 was a means to an end and isn't religious about it.

@subnetter he's done alarming things like this like two or three times now, he was promoting rust in the kernel like he knew what was talking about then admitting he didn't do it and couldn't review the patches. I mean, I like Rust and think it helps the kernel, but facts are facts.
