@smugumin I've very much always been a live and let-live guy in the vtubing world. Like... I watched Saruei when she was a fleshstreaming artist. There used to be this Japanese porn site 100 years ago that was basically Chaturbate png tubing with live girls and tokens and the whole nine. This was super long time ago. Stickam type days. Not to mention the old Ear Fetish Japanese CDs/DLSite packs that were ASMR before someone gave it a goofy name.

That is to say, I don't really get the prude side of things. Plenty of girls went from ASMR RP or outright porno content to vtubing. If some portion of the community doesn't match your mood, fine, but apply that logic to the girls who are upholding that portion of the industry. And as an oldfag who has been to many cons, Offkai, from the outside, looks a hell of a lot like old anime cons. Loose panels, people having fun. A proper niche. If people want buttoned down immersion horseshit, they should go watch Holo or someone trying to be an idol corp.

@smugumin Again, it already is. The American side was already going to be that. Western women are, largely, ruined. If the dissolution of the American Weimar starts in vtubing, I will be deeply shocked. And if it's not going to be, I'm just going to watch the cartoon women be bad at games.

That's also why I don't get attached, though. It's real women, doing a character. My favorite cartoons are voiced by just some guy. Probably some turbo liberal guy who wants us all dead and loves a good orgy. I don't care if sad, disenfranchised men cope by being horny for cosplay 6s. Life sucks. The fix is not two weeks away. That in mind, I don't mind if people get a little weird with it. Though, I agree, plenty of women are seeking to profit off of it and the fun isn't as innocent as it was. It's less about being liberal minded and more about trying to draw the line somewhere more attainable for me. Try to show up for and encourage based girls saying quality stuff (Midas has been very disappointing in this whole thing, personally) and that's that.
