@feld @Jueltrae @mWare Airpods and other kinds of over-the-counter aids are great for typical mild age related losses, which are the most common kinds. If you need high amounts of gain, compression, frequency compression, etc. though, then there really aren't options other than "real" hearing aids. From the datasheet it looks like mine can put out around 145dB SPL at 1000Hz and they last a week and a half on a battery, which I don't think Airpods can quite handle :)
