@raccoon@hollow.raccoon.quest @kaia@pleroma.soykaf.com For me, the Miata being more prominent in the shot than the Trybersuck suggests maybe that the Miata owner is taking pride in their carβs more polished black paint (which is a weird thkng to flex but okay???) or more likely that the Trybersuck owner sucks at even basic photography ββ
@lain@lain.com Ngl, I really really didnβt know until recently that Doja Cat also sang βBitch Iβm a Cowβ like I didnβt expect her to have both a memey vibe and a mainstream pop style ββ

@sun@shitposter.world Part of me thinks that Fedi would have a much more diverse userbase without Bluskey, but then again, before Bluskey went public and thus hit it big, Fedi still wasn't really growing. It was hyped up for a few months when Twitter was bought out, but most others either hated how confusingly Fedi advocates talked about the platform (essentially a Twitter-lite-Youtube-Discord-Instagram hybrid abomination that has 500 completely identical versions of itself but each version may or may not be run by insufferable nerds) or disliked how little the community offers once they most likely just hopped on a large/midsize server that didn't fry itself from nontroversies (which I actually feel isn't the fault of Fedi's design as small platforms in general are kinda boring and have wannabe hippies).
Overall, Fedi still works fine for me, but that's really because the alternatives are the same old and bad Twitter and not Twitter but ran by some of the same untalented shitscripters behind Twitter, while this decentralized network is janky and nerdy but held its shit together for almost two decades. For others, though, they'll still join in Fedi much later on, but it'll be because of the actually serious instance admins who don't shit away their instances after two weeks and the actually serious devs who offer something better than Titkok/Youtube but it sucks. ββ
@lain@lain.com This has the energy of a reaction image, particularly one youβd send to a hellthread by people taking the internet too seriously ββ
@voltrina@social.freedombits.org Meanwhile Wii owners having no online for almost 12 years and no store for around 7 years at this point because it was essentially a 1st-gen Xbox with Mario games: ββ
Yes, I am still unnecessarily bitter about losing Wii and DS online ββ
@sun@shitposter.world @eris@yourwalls.today Agreed, especially since us PC builders are very defensive about our hobby (and rightly so, cause' upgradeability is good for our Earth and pre-built manufacturers eat crayons for breakfast), and anger is a profitable emotion for social media companies.
Still, it's really funny to see the sheer lack of pattern recognition of this type of waste content. ARM laptops are still effectively an Apple thing, Web3 is niche yet again, and all bubbles pop after some time. It says a lot more about how much of a waste most modern internet media has become more than anything ββ

@lebronjames75@shitposter.world Ngl, I'd still be fucking terrified as fuck if I was an illiterate sea-wagie in the less scientifically-advanced 1600s and saw a giant weird penis sprouting up ββ
@lebronjames75@shitposter.world When the frontends that are actively being sabotaged by Google still manage to have a better user experience than Youtube itself just by virtue of actually respecting user preferences ββ

@phnt@fluffytail.org Huh, how so? My instance is likely also illegal in South Carolina as I express a fair bit of malvertiser-hostile sentiment here, but not sure what that state specifically did against us self-hosters ββ

@sun@shitposter.world Imo, it confirms the obvious that the US was only mad at Titkok for not being part of Silicon Valley and instead being descended from Chinese Tech. They were fine with Youtube Shorts and Instagram Reels also promoting algorithm-induced societal decay, and they were fine with Facebook and Google spying on users, and they were fine with tech companies cooperating with the police and Israel. ββ
