16honestly, i don't like that thing one bit...
i really hope bossman sees the light and doesn't use this anywhere. hell is gonna freeze over before i start to trust that thing...
i know trustpilot is a bit meh of an indicator, but it sure doesn't look good for them
their forum doesn't seem to be that active either. like last thread is from last month and the next newest one is from 3 months ago
Starting with version 10, CloudLinux OS ceased to provide installation ISO images; it now provides just a Bash script that converts an existing AlmaLinux installation into CloudLinux OS. As such, CloudLinux OS 10 is no longer classified as a "Linux distribution"lel
tried to find some reviews or something, but i can't find anything meaningfull. most of it is just either marketing fluff and uncritical articles. non really going into details.
sure sounds fishy.
apperantly, one of the biggest hosters in switzerland uses it tho.
idk how to feel about this. it sounds like its not worth it for our company and i really can't shake off my bad gut feeling about it

CloudLinux? More like ClownLinux
@puniko ..we are talking about Jessie Taube, do we??
@puniko@mk.absturztau.be php 4.4 😭
@puniko Well, it's basically a commercial distro primarily used for cPanel setups.
And the hosting companies that do use it, often have customers that created a website in 2003 that never got an update beyond PHP4 ![]()
@puniko@mk.absturztau.be They still support Python 2.7
@puniko I see php8 was too high
@puniko ..it is an option that allows you to shoot yourself in your foot. wtf?
