I let my eldest two hold the boxes on the drive home and my daughter had hers sitting on her chest just smiling at them

I just bought 4 more chickens, Rustic Rocks. I have them in the shed under a warmer. It will put me at 19 chickens. I sell their eggs and give a bunch to my church and my Priest. I make sure he has plenty of eggs for his huge family.

I've had RIR and Barred Rocks in the past. I used to breed them because their chicks are sex linked at birth. But I've never had the others. Hoping for some roosters in the straight run
