I love it when things start getting fixed and working 😭
I switched it over to an instant health bar effect and it made it so much better, the exp gain effect works well by comparison.
As long as she's not a single mom or anything most women have a chance just by being nice to men.
Huh, well what do you know, health bars are a finnicky thing, I see now why FPS games have them update instantly as opposed to being animated. Animated bars only really work when it's a slower paced type of game, otherwise there's too much of a delay and things don't synchronise correctly.
Do you know about the priority system? I do agree with you though about the way colonists equip, there were so many better ways to handle it than how the dev did.
You know what's funny? I know what you're posting about with Rimworld but I didn't struggle anything like as much with the RNG and shooting mechanics. I've pretty much figured out how to exploit the fuck out of them. The game doesn't run like shit either because it's 2D so save scumming isn't difficult to do lol.
To do an actual honest review of the game as well if you guys ever get tempted. The story writing definitely screams a mix of Tumblr fanfiction and theatre kid reddit. Whenever you encounter the cults etc. in the game the voice acting is exactly like. The game dances the line of woke frequently and I think that's why so many gamers could put up with it but it's definitely there especially in the design of the NPCs because they all look like they took modern day millennials and plonked them in a fantasy world and there's no getting around the fact that it's extremely jarring.
Combat is incredibly meh and your average turn based affair, ironically if it stuck to more traditional aspects of turn based RPG I think it would have done better. Adding cartoonishly tall ladders for a height advantage and also the jump mechanics was a terrible idea. The navigation meshes seem very off for the jump mechanics in particular and because this game was clearly designed for a console you can't control your party members very well because you constantly have to ungroup/group them to cycle through and move them one by one.
In a PC version of this game that was design properly you'd just drag or shift select, very annoying and shows they were being lazy.
I was a pretty big Larian fan back in the day because Divinity Original Sin 2 is a genuinely good game BG3 frequently drops the ball purely looking at it as a game. I'm not wholly against RNG when it's done well but the "miss, miss, miss" no matter what setup you pick gets really exhausting so you just end up being very reliant on AoE which are your only guaranteed hit chance weirdly enough.
Hate the dice rolls in everything, it would be one thing if I could turn them off but that's easily the worse part of the game. Normies try to claim it's D&D immersion but it just encourages save scumming because there are certain sections where a wrong dice roll will instantly kill your character and end the game which is stupid and takes away player agency.
Unnecessary cameo appearances everywhere in Act 3 in particular, they just wanted to force the characters into the story so it feels very inconsistent compared to the overall plot.
It's sad because I love my RPGs, if BG3 hadn't been wokified it might have been an okay title at least, but the dice rolls, ladders and jump mechanics definitely ruin it. The people who praised this game originally didn't even get past Act 2.
Keep in mind as well BG3 had the covid wave behind it, I think that's a big reason behind it's success. Larian are going to be in for a big disappointment if they think they can get away with the same shit again with their new Divinity game.
TLDR: I hate played BG3 so you don't have to if you ever get tempted by the discounts, maybe if you can get it for -£15 it will be worth it lol.
I posted it in my mini review of the game but hit chance and buggy raycasting is pretty blatant. You also have the incredibly awful ladder and jump mechanics which make movement extremely tedious.
Baldur's Gate 3 should be a game I somewhat like, but the games' design flaws piss me off every time and make it very frustrating to play through. Meanwhile by comparison Baldur's Gate 2 feels like I'm enjoying fine caviar.
I find it really interesting how even if a game is pretty buggy but overall the design of the gameplay is good you can overlook a lot of things. However if the design is just bad and it plays bad, it makes everything so much more frustrating to deal with.
Are you trying to buy these in the shop? Best bet is to look online where they have actual stock unfortunately, I've run into this problem constantly RL. They all just gear everything towards tablet and phone normies now.
Guys, we need to have a serious intervention with the normies, apparently this game got 1 million units sold, they'll do anything now except go outside.
Oh yeah that was a fucked up thing to glance through, I'm so glad I don't have to pay attention to this anymore.
John Cleese is getting red pilled in real time on X and I love it lol.
It's amazing how often retards like you resort to playing dumb.
Whenever somebody threatens people like that I instantly think of the podcast clips with soyjacks claiming they'd beat people up by the dumpster and you instantly become funny.
Now we're talking! That's exactly what I wanted.
What in the name of autistic shitposting is this?
Fair enough, I'm just shitposting from the seat of my pants.
Even the people who study psychology have clocked onto this so instead of going into any kind of real psychology career they go into marketing instead and come up with some extremely fucked up ideas to use on the population.
My favourite one will always be Riot games hiring that douche psychologist to perform experiments on their own playerbase and yes that's a real thing that happened.
