When I was a kid I used to think stoplights were controlled manually by a dude sitting in an underground control room who pushed the button for the light to change and I thought all the control room guys were conspiring against my mom to make all the stoplights turn red and make her mad, so I had an elaborate plan to steal a crowbar from Lowe's and sneak into the city storm sewer and find their control rooms and beat the shit out of them.

Very similiar to my childhood belief that tiny people were in the car radio subjecting us to shitty music that needed to pay a price for their torturous ways.

@karn I did not think that but I was retarded in other ways. For instance it wasn't until I was 15 and got my learners permit that I learned the clicking sound that happened in the car was the turn signal. In fact I didn't even notice that it happened before we turned. Just thought it was some random soothing car ambience.
