@ins0mniak @graf I did night shift hotel security/janitor for a while, had an alarm sound one night, only audible in the basement utility area. Wasn't trained on it but found the source and saw it was from the fire suppression system. Supervisor left me with a list of numbers.

Called, guy came out, diagnosed it, false alarm. He filled me in about the horrors of aged fire-suppression systems, I guess they're meant to be flushed regularly otherwise black sludge comes out when it finally goes off.

@Vo @ins0mniak A couple days ago I carried a washing machine that had water in it up a flight of stairs and 100m out to the road so my hands were fatigued and fucked so I asked my buddy to pull down my smoke detector because I thought my hands were just fatigued but it turned out the nigger literally pinned it in place so it couldn't be turned off so I felt like a retard (also drunk)

@ins0mniak @graf I once set up an rPi3 on a battery bank with a $5 webcam as a ghetto security camera, for a Fedex delivery I needed to receive. Can recommend.

There was no issue that time but I like to believe it's because I went the extra step to collapse the quantum eigenfunction or w/e.

@Vo @graf a pi solves a multitude of such issues. I actually have a ghetto scanner set up with one so if the fire alarm does go off building wide I can listen to EMS/Fire and see if its legit.

@ins0mniak @Vo I got a mini (think nuc) pc with a ryzen 9 6980HX with 64GB ram and 8TB NVMe sitting in my table im typing on now and I have no idea what to do with it. I was going to put the nitter on it then I reazlied hosting the nitter or anything in my house is an incredibly horrible idea
