@sun @SuperDicq i think the whole discourse of `morbid obesity is fine actually` is from beauty companies trying to salvage customers out of an obesity epidemic. apparently the actual history of body positivity traces back to birth marks and physical defects.

obesity is heavily metabolic dysregulation, though its conceivable that they might still have some plush people (because SOME body fat is actually within human norms even in ancient times)

its not even that, there's some weird like "you VILL have ze ugly bitches!" force in media, and the artists were puzzled by it ten years ago.

where someone like me might go "okay, just let the skeletal and skin defects be real, people get crows eyes its normal" they're like, SPECIFICALLY pushing for undesirable characters.
