Also daily reminder that I miss the old FE this one is so much worse, lost one of the few useful functions (updating timelines on profile tabs) in exchange for a bunch of stuff that takes space and I haven't ever as much as thought "this would be nice to have" in 14 years on fedi.

@nerthos also if you're missing something we can probably add it back. Profile timelines should be auto updating
@hj I don't want to give you guys more work, I just want the thing that already worked, unchanged, and keep using that. I made a thread about all the pointless unnecessary changes yesterday.
@nerthos can you link it here? I'll take a look. I'm not afraid of more work and I want to please everyone.
@hj It's pinned on my profile if you want to see it from your instance, otherwise https://shitposter.world/notice/B2Ma3IkdMkjcxZTAGG
Pleasing me in regards to the FE is just letting me keep using the previous version of FE that was up until a week ago. Honestly, just having some sort of toggle for which (big) version you want on user options would be the final, forever, ideal fix. Doesn't matter if new functions only work on newer versions, people who like the old version can skip those functions and people who like the new functions can use the new version.

@nerthos yeah I can make option for compact profile. You can also disable "personal remarks" (note/highlight) already. Main reason vor vertical space is because people want to showcase their banner, really.
@hj I really just want a toggle for (v2?) FE. The one that I was using until now (and still using on this tab that I refuse to f5 on)
I can probably just inspect element on everything, selectively copypaste it onto a text file, and then open a new tab and selectively replace shit until it renders like the old version, but then I'd have to do it every time, and coders all around the world would kill themselves upon hearing I'm doing it that way.

@nerthos you can run any version of pleroma fe in development mode locally and have it be proxied to spw.
