@sun I've talked about that earlier in the morning, like who likes Mike Myers at this point? Even the concept of a James Bond parody is too washed up at this point.
@hfaust yeah it's really a spent genre, and it was spent by the austin powers movies already doing everything they needed to do (plus more unwanted shit)
@sun I don't know if you have seen its latest projects like The Pentaverate, he cannot let a skit die and makes the show unfunny to an incredible degree.

@hfaust I don't actually dislike or hate him, like I do Seth Rogen, but yes he's just not hot right now anymore
@sun You are right but Hollywood is so desperate right now they will make sequels of the awful SNL movies from the 90s. So prepare for "It's Pat 2"
@hfaust that may be the only one they don't do, lol
@sun No, it's the perfect one. Imagine the story of Pat but retold as a coming of age non-binary drama from the point of view of Pat but then you cut to the comedic point of view of the other characters.
BRB, selling the script to A24.

@sun The trailer opens with a slow-mo violin version of the theme song.
@hfaust @sun let a skit die?! It was exactly what it was supposed to be. I loved The Pentaverate because So I Married An Axe Murderer is one of my all time favorite movies so the idea that this show exists because of his dad's conspiracy theory is just *chef kiss* of a callback
Anthony LaPaglia was genuinely cracking in that scene, plz tell me you know this is the origin...
edit: hdr to sdr colors washed out in Firefox and idk how to fix this, don't care I guess lol
