@feld The cats didn't bother me much until recently, found a huge shit under the patio, was not fucking happy about that

@coolboymew my dog eats them. Well, as any dog would. Because most cat turds are just undigested cat food, so it's basically kibble plus enzymes in a ~fun~ shape.

@feld They could be "feral" but be fed by a bunch of people around, meaning they might still need to hunt for food themselves, meaning there's still some elevated form of risks

@feld @coolboymew I let my cats outside freely but they spend most of their time in my house... maybe it's because I take care of them well, maybe it's because they're fixed, but my cats are definitely still my cats. This is a bad metric. I would say that feral cats are afraid of humans. If a cat is neither social nor friendly with housecats, even if it lives in your house it is a feral cat.
@sampler @feld The thing is that it's not impossible to tame or partially tame feral cats. Cats is ultimately a "tamed" animal. And even if they aren't, people could still be feeding them regardless with minimal interaction. The issue with the dog eating the poop is that if it's indeed feral, that would means it would be lacking the usual care and pills,: No dewormer, etc., so there's the risks for the dog. Of couse, that could also happen to a owned cat that isn't cared of properly, or even if the cat was cared of properly, there's still some level of risks (even if low, it's still there)
