I think it rates relatively low as far as lock-in goes, since it's possible to just keep extra copies of all your games on a local drive, and crack them later if Steam gets bought out or taken over.

@graf @brokenshakles @TraditionalWhiteGuy @0vtcast @SuperSnekFriend @merchantHelios Make sure to run the game one time first before disconnecting, Steam still has a couple of things it will want to do first.
Several years ago I got so pissed off at my ISP I just decided it was much easier to go without internet, and told them to fuck off but with a lot more profanity.
