@rl_dane @OpenComputeDesign @sotolf @alatartheblue @dusnm @amin sometimes I wonder if people just don't have good TVs or something. If you buy a really really nice Sony Bravia OLED you'll be able to tell the difference between "4K" offered by Netflix/Amazon and "4K" off a real Bluray. Especially if it has HDR

Netflix and Prime streams are in the range of 15-25Mbps

AppleTV+ has ~40Mbps (this is why their shows/films look crisper than most)

Sony Pictures Core (most people haven't even heard of this) will stream at 80Mbps -- it's about the highest quality you can get for a streaming service

But a single Bluray can be up to 144Mbps

That's why I download the full quality Bluray rips. The audio is significantly better too, and I have a nice audio setup too.

I admit our LCD isn't as good as the CRT it replaced. But then, nothing really is.

Don't really see the point in buying a "better" TV anyway, if it'll suddenly make me discontented with everything else I own.

A good display is one that makes what you have look good, not one that makes you get new stuff to look good.

Great thing about stuff like good headphones is, they make everything sound better, rather than requiring FLACs
