Legally licensed concealed carry does not make you law enforcement or give you authority to act as one. You’re not there to intervene, enforce, or insert yourself into conflicts. Training emphasizes restraint: avoid danger, de-escalate, disengage, and leave when possible. The “sheepdog” role is limited—personal, last-resort self-defense only, not correction or resistance.

2Defense of others is recognized.
It is absolutely not only personal.
Kidnapping, arson, armed robbery.
You may choose to not act and you are not legally required but morally obligated.
YMMV
Also US citizens have guns to shoot agents of tyranny.
The reasoning couldn't be more self evident.
You may pick the wrong agents and be incorrect but if you think you are fighting the Gestapo and LITERALLY HITLER, you should come fully armed.

5@MSP_SMIMSA According to Edgar Snow’s reporting on Mao, revolutions don’t begin with guns. They begin with organizing people, building logistics and discipline, securing manpower, and gaining legitimacy by being seen as oppressed under unjust power. Armed force comes later—after political groundwork, mass support, and moral authority already exist.
@sirchris Which I guess is why the existing moral society waits until it's too late to start killing the threat while they can, then everybody starves and millions suffer and die needlessly. It's kind of like a smart virus or cancer. It's also interesting to me how the red guard thinks they'll be sitting on top of the heap afterwards, instead of 6ft underneath it. @MSP_SMIMSA
We live in a leftist country with a free-ish market.
FEDGOV spends almost all money on social programs and military and is ruled by one party that squabbled over which entitlements get more.
The Constitution and the Bill of Rights was a great idea that is too scary and chaotic for most humans.
We are choosing the peace of despotism.
The uniparty will have a new ruler and he will directly attack US citizens and the rest will wring their hands and comply.
@MSP_SMIMSA @Killer_Mule I honestly would prefer despotism to all those crazy Minnesotans. That might be the trap. All these crazy Karens might be herding us to really want an iron fist rather than those crazy crying pierced arrow frogs.
