If 2500 nuclear weapons went off the radiation would probably be gone in a few weeks. the dust and debris theown into the jet stream would be decades. crop failure, starvation and lack of medicine will be a problem.

I’ll posit we don’t really know what would happen with thousands of simultaneous nuclear explosions. There’s some heat sync and elasticity that might be overwhelmed by that. Or maybe the total energy isn’t big enough to matter. I guess it would depend on if this was early atomic bombs or hydrogen bombs too. I can bet a few thousand Tsar Bombas at once would btfo a lot of the biosphere, just from the shock factor.
