Russia Today is reporting that a large number of US Marines were killed in an Iranian drone and missile strike on Bubiyan Island off Kuwait. Fatalities may number in the triple digits.

It’s possible that this was a preemptive strike on what was likely a staging ground for the US invasion of Iran.

Gone are the days when a massive amphibious landing could be staged without the enemy having a clue. Even if drones couldn't fly over the Russians have satellites and they want to fuck the US any deniable way they can.

In the Ukraine theater, I understand Russia advances in 3-5 man groups, that's as large a group as drone recon allows. Massing large numbers of troops isn't going to work for the U.S., and furthermore the U.S. wildly underestimated how moderating Khameni was on the IRGC's preferences, and how deferential they were to him. Seems they're willing to be super aggressive in confronting any U.S. attempt at landing troops.
