They worship themselves, not God. They don't think of God like Christians or even Muslims do. For them God isn't so much a supreme, individual entity ruling over creation, and so someone to be worshiped and obeyed. He's more like a pervasive force throughout the universe, behind the Jews, pushing the Jews forward. Their rabbis are revered because the rabbis are thought to have some kind of spiritual power. They have stories of rabbis arguing with God, and winning the argument.
When rabbi Walking Stereotype here talks about God sinning against the Jews, he's talking about those times God didn't come through for them, when He let the Jews fail or suffer. God didn't hold up His side of the bargain, you see. He didn't push the Jews forward, push them to the head of the line like He was supposed to. Rabbi Dildo Salesman can think that because Jews worship themselves, and it's God's job to be there for the Jews.

I read somewhere once that people's concepts of God(s) are idealized and perfected versions of themselves, and that any God(s) will arise as the symbol of that people. If this is the case, then the jewish god is himself the ultimate rat who wrote laws meant to be circumvented.
However, keep in mind that all the God stuff in the holy text came from rabbis themselves. Prior to Jesus, you as a plebian were never allowed to even talk to God because you didn't have the proper credentials. This mindset wasn't limited to jews, however. It's a Middle Eastern thing in general, coming from Zeus temples to Marduk shrines and predating judyism by millennia. The jews simply incorporated that idea. So what you see with jews is a religion that was created out of whole cloth by rabbis, fed to the people as "God's law", became the basis of their hubris (Chosenites), and created the harshest theocracy until some guy came along and said "You know, maybe we could start praying to God directly and we don't need these parasites" You can see why they had him crucified, but used the Romans to do it so they remained clean.
