Chicken Pox is not "quite a nasty disease." I'm Gen-X. I had it as a kid. It was 4-5 days of mild flu-like symptoms combined with some itchy redish-pink spots on the skin. It runs it's course and then you have life long immunity. Our parents used to have Chicken Pox parties wherein they would purposely expose many kids at a time just to get it over with.

Vaccinating for it is unnecessary, as with other childhood vaccines.
