4The surest sign of the AI bubble popping that I've seen yet is AI vendors going back to QC programs and begging them to roll up results into press soundbites.
QC is reliable that way, there's always some results and some progress being made that companies can point to when they need a boost.
I do continue to think that quantum computing is very different than blockchains, NFTs, AI, metaverse, or whatever other tech fads. In particular, it's different because it's real research backed by real science, even despite being throughly toxic in culture.
But that also means that QC is always there for companies to turn to when whatever other fad bursts.

@xgranade there's a trend right now where people are writing blog posts about how we NEED to upgrade to PQC crypto immediately because of the latest rumors going around but every single blog post is just some random guy who read an article that sounded scary and they needed to post about how important it is that we take action immediately
none of these posts have any new information or insight, it's just "I sound smart when I write this please hire me" energy. But it also manipulates other dumb people into thinking something big is going on because everyone is talking about it
