I like old thing.
<3 C, Unix, shell scripting, old electronics, emacs, & old cute cars. Nearly 30.
Current obsessions include Bubblegum Crisis, the NEC PC-9801, and basically any old computer I can get my hands on.
I'm some kind of non-binary-ish trans-feminine, but I'm not too worried about the specifics of my identity. I am me… whatever that means to you.If you want to call me a guy or something, then by all means do so unless/until i ask you to stop :p
I draw pixel art of varying quality.
I want to be genuine and connect with others empathetically, bidirectionally; we need more of that and to assume good faith more easily. I still am strongly opinionated though, so I'm sorry if I don't always live up to my own expectations. It's okay to remind me about this if you think I need it.
Vetting follows, it's just a vibe check (like, have a discernible vibe and not emptiness). If you have mostly emptiness send me a message explaining why you want to follow or some of your interests and that'll probably be good enough.
LMK if I should CW something or act differently, I want to be considerate and friendly but I don't always know what upsets everyone…
I will sometimes post politics but I try to put it in content warnings unless it's some surreal silly take on politics with few or no ties to reality.
Avatar is my art of Nei, from Phantasy Star II.
Donations would mean the world to me, if you can help. Or job offers. https://ko-fi.com/wyatt8740

(no! bad wyatt, no more spending money this month)

It's the unempathetic mindset i see in GNOME developers
a whole class of the old computers i like will become infinitely less usable under linux in particular the moment toolkits stop supporting X, and this is a genuine problem that should be taken seriously instead of saying "you should just buy shiny new AI-enabled razor thin bendable NPU thing and encourage the bastards ruining tech and just use wayland bro"
You suggest “the gnome community” as an alternative to the FSF that actually cares?? lol, LMAO even.
instead of saying patches welcome in a derogatory way, they said so stuff’s broken? let’s see how we can fix it. Afterwards, begun a collaboration and a dialog in order to fix it, and by the time the next few releases rolled around, most of the accessibility issues got fixed.
Meanwhile, if you try to, I don’t know, ACTUALLY SUBMIT PATCHES to fix a problem, gnome maintainers will decline stating some stupid bullshit like “all development has moved to GTK4, not accepting patches to GTK3 anymore” despite my patch fixing an actual fucking problem that has a simple and uncontroversial fucking solution with a two line code change. Gnome is domineering and unwelcoming of any outsider patches or ideas by comparison to any FSF project I have ever participated in. Some “community” gnome turned out to be. A bunch of insular fuckwads.
Meanwhile I report a bug in a GNU project component, like nano, regarding some very poor behaviour for accessibility when on a physical terminal, and they immediately investigated and fixed the bug even without me sending in a patch. And thanked me for reporting the bug and explained to me what the problem was.

Yes, I have read the many posts documenting 'incidents' he has been involved in and I consider some to have merit but the most severe ones to be due to a desire to talk about taboo subjects plainly even in situations where it makes him look really fucking bad. I read the original email that set off the fire relating to calling him a pedo or whatever, and that honestly isn't how his message reads.
It reads like an autistic person rolling into a complicated social minefield with the finesse of a freight truck.
