@lain reading O. V. Khlevni︠u︡k's Stalin biography, I learned that unlimited tax on the kulaks led to great success, like people starving in the streets, babies freezing in mothers' arms

@whiteline @lain dunno whether I'm thinking too simply, but taking away people's land, telling them the next harvest will be completely confiscated and they will be left with nothing seems like an excellent incentive to not give a fuck, to plant nothing, to work against the system with full force
