i think it's kinda silly to commit ideologically to something, like you don't have to *be* a marxist-leninist to think lenin had some ideas, or now you read some mao and you're a maoist, you don't have to be an *ist besides just a revolutionary socialist, and a lot of problems with online lefty communities come from people who barely read anything becoming fanatical adherents to political movements they know nothing about and have no historic connection to whatsoever.
