PCI and USB to ISA adapters don't work for sound cards. don't ask me how I know or how much money was spent.

@wertimer @npc the problem with onboard audio is that they get electrical noise and they are the cheapest possible components. it varies from board to board. if you get an OEM Dell it is noticeably fucking terrible. If you buy a nice ASUS board for your build it's fine.
