@whitequark cursed but some Chinese manufacturers use speaker terminals (the press and insert type) for this. I've even seen them used for 120V mains. ![]()
So. EV is on the horizon. Looking at EV chargers... Immediately, it is surprising to me how many CURSED things the manufacturers suggest doing.
Take this - Running EV Ultra cable (3 x 6mm + a 4 twisted pair data cable inside one armoured jacket)? Use a pair for your CT connection and two pairs for Fast Ethernet!
Also interesting to discuss the safety concerns of having exposed, fragile, solid copper data wires inside that enclosure, right next to those chonkin EV charger contacts at 230VAC... That Ethernet cable probably heads off into a comms rack where people are going to be handling the ends of cables, terminating, crimping, etc... without imagining that the other end is <2cm away from live contacts with zero isolation.
