It's only reasonable to like and defend them, they're our guys, and they were the first to be targeted in the way that all white peoples are now targeted.

The Irish are "our guys" in the sense of common continental roots, it has nothing to do with ideology. Anyone not insane would feel sympathy for a nation related to theirs be it in blood or faith that suffered repeated attempts at being wiped.

It's an invented group defined by historical power that includes and excludes people according to its convenience. This doesn't mean it's fake in that it doesn't matter or isn't something that defines people's entire fucking lives, it means that the people who decide who lives and who dies made it up in order to consolidate power-over anyone who isn't white, or isn't white enough, or isn't white yet. It's not a culture or a tribe or an ethnicity.
