@cjd I've noticed boomers are physically incapable of understanding inflation. They may nod in agreement if you want to point it out but they'll sound amazed 10 seconds later how much things cost, you know back in their day a pack a cigs was only 25 cents, 50 cents to see a movie, their first house was only $11,000 in 1965.

@radians @cjd A middle class couple used to be able to save half their disposable income, raise 2 or more kids, live fairly comfortable and pay off a mortgage with an interest rate in the low teens in less than a decade.
