@p @pwm ok man like I havent seen my entire hometown decay before my eyes and worsen every single time I go back. you can find individual exceptions everywhere but there's a trend

@sun @p middle America was strip mined by urbanites of worthy humanity and left it a shell of itself, yes.
You got scooped up and out, case in point. Ditto my parents. There is now no "family home" per se, just a series of domiciles.

@pwm @p there is absolutely no separation between the economic and social decay, by the way. when you're driven into poverty and wage slavery the entire social fabric breaks down, in every way.
