Tempted to write a "What is Fedi" blog post explaining how wanting to have builtin automated blocklists and "trust and safety" features won't fly with almost every Fedi server dev out there. So I can then send it to every post I see about users wanting this and get yelled at for being XYZ.

@phnt@fluffytail.org block and mute are literally right there but people refuse to use them and then complain about seeing things they don't want to see. i honestly don't get it

@rosey No, they use it. But they expect this place to work like Xitter/Bsky where all those users they block/mute don't even show up on their timelines. What they want is a software or service that deals with this for them, instead of them moderating their own timelines however they want. This is the most common disconnect I see.
