The Raspberry Pi community in a nutshell is wannabe homelabbers that know nothing about computers, but think they are extremely knowledgeable. I hate it.

A great example of that are the various undervolting and underclocking threads on the forums. A bunch of users saying "you don't need to do that, the Pi will underclock itself when it gets too hot", "75°C is fine, it doesn't hurt the board in any way" and "get the official case and that is good enough."

@phnt have heard the same from a friend who also believe them to be unreliable.

@pwm My Pi 4 died after like 80 hours of use, DRAM kicked the bucket and it wouldn't even meminit. Crashed once, couldn't find the boot device and after cooling down it was completely braindead. All I used it for was rebuilding Pleroma CI.

At the least the site I bought it from RMAd it the same day they received it.

@pwm After looking on the Internet, apparently a very common problem with early production runs (bought it almost 2 years ago).

Mine all have fan cases and sinks.
