@ebassi I was exposed to GNOME, and it was the most "damn, you live like this" experience I've ever had in my life computing.

I tried to look up "how to add tray icons to the top bar" and apparently the answer is that GNOME developers think you shouldn't be able to do that. I tried really hard to find where "minimize" and "maximize" buttons were for windows, but apparently they don't exist either. Then I opened up the file manager and was greeted with three very similar looking hamburger menu icons with no easy way to distinguish which one has what.

@rl_dane @matthew @phnt @ebassi Gnome is, well, ok, I guess.

I used it for quite a while and even went as far as to write some notes on it to make it more usable for me.

I've since talked myself down and moved back to Plasma and am happier.

IMO, the best GTK based desktop right now is not Gnome, but Pantheon (Elementary OS). I could never warm up to Cinnamon and am looking forward to trying Budgie 10.11.
