@parker fffffff oww I felt that, sorry Parker
@scenesbycolleen Thank you, that's kind of you
@parker @scenesbycolleen Are you hammer drilling steel?
@Sweetie_Squad_Liquidator @scenesbycolleen maybe, yes, it was faster okay
@parker @scenesbycolleen Hammer drilling, in high speed...with a unibit?
@Sweetie_Squad_Liquidator @scenesbycolleen No, it was a straight drill bit for metal, but of questionable origins, I didn't want to buy anything better to drill one hole for a bolt, at the wrong speed, and my form was pretty trash. So a lot of bad choices all came together.
@parker @Sweetie_Squad_Liquidator @scenesbycolleen these step drills are really good for drilling sheet metal. straight bits tend to snag in steel when exiting the back side and these solve that problem. i highly recommend them for anything thinner than around 1/8"
@meowski @Sweetie_Squad_Liquidator @scenesbycolleen My pipe's walls were 1/4", and had to align with the holes on the roof support which also had 1/4" walls, so those stepped things would have been too much.
@parker @Sweetie_Squad_Liquidator @scenesbycolleen it helps to use at least one smaller pilot drill that is the size of the final drill's web, if not 2 or more steps depending on final size. as you start to exit the back side, brace the drill against your body, increase motor speed, and back off the pressure a lot. and if it does snag on exit, reverse the drill and drill backwards to try to smooth out the back side without catching. in general drilling metal by hand sucks and it's a lot better to have a drill press
