I cannot restate enough how underspecified and fragmented the fediverse ecosystem is if you try to actually do anything "cool" with it.

Do you think I care that Mastodon users won't be able to take advantage of them? No, they can try to convince their emotionless CEO to support them. Not my problem.

@phnt @i @lain @sun 2021 and early 2022 poast reminded me of 2004-2006 4chan. Those users are still around. Most pissed off to xitter because Elon let's you say the bad word now but a lot of what I proposed to moon in calls would bring a lot of them back

@graf @i @phnt @lain @sun in 2000, I got a job at a fast food place, and my manager was in a metal band. they were so small-time that they aren't even listed on Metal Archives or Discogs now, but I still listen to the mp3s once in awhile. they were great fun, and I saw them live about 10 times.

they had the potential to make it big if they had some connections rather than living in the run-down shithole town where I grew up.

@noyoushutthefuckupdad @i @phnt @lain @sun the scene in niagara region during this time included alexisonfire, often saw them in basements with 15-30 people playing with these guys. they took off because of dallas green so i try to pump my boys up when i can. almost everybody I've met irl from poast I've dragged to at least one of their concerts and they come back for more, sometimes multiple times a month. even from the US
